“Journey Inside” Begins!

“Journey Inside” Begins!

It’s  8:30 am and Colleen and I are at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. We left home at 5:00 am. At 8:00, I swallowed the camera for my capsule endoscopy.

As you can see in these pictures, they even had it hooked up to the “real-time viewer” so I could see the camera in operation.

Right now we’re in the cafeteria. I go back at 10:00 for them to check it and be sure the camera has made its way into the small intestine. Then, I’m free to wander around, maybe see a movie, whatever.

Since Colleen had to work yesterday and I wasn’t feeling very well, our anniversary day wasn’t much together. Maybe today will be a better opportunity to just be together.

I conclude this “journey inside” at 4:00 pm, and am then free to drink and “eat”, whatever that means for how my stomach feels. Maybe some chicken noodle soup or something.

Enjoy the pictures, but be forewarned, some of them may be graphic!

The camera is actually down inside the pinkish part, which is just a holder. The white part is the back of the camera.

This is the real time viewer, a small laptop, with the camera/capsule connected to it.

I'm just about to swallow the capsule. The real time viewer to the left shows it looking at me as I'm about to swallow!

This is the first image of the camera in my mouth.
