13 Apr A Good Change Of Plans
In the last hours of planning to leave for the Grand Canyon, our plans changed. For weeks now, we’ve been making plans to spend the boys’ & Colleen’s Spring Break at the Grand Canyon. None of us have been there yet.
I though it’d be a good idea for us to take a long road trip in the RV we use to travel in to see how we would do in preparation for our road trip to Texas this Summer. Actually, the road trip I was planning for this Summer was much more expansive than what it is turning out to be after all.
Thus, the “test” trip to the Grand Canyon turned out not to be as much of a test as I thought. With only a few days to do this short vacation in, we decided to make a change to head to Pismo Beach instead.
So, here we are, the boys are griping about the light as I am typing next to their bed. Our drive was awesome and our anticipation of this week is great!
Pismo Beach is a special place for Colleen and I for a number of reasons, and we have not had much chance to share it with the boys. So, we’re looking forward to some good time together.
After an incredible Easter weekend at church (1 service Saturday night and 2 Sunday morning), the company of some friends, family and some great food on Sunday afternoon and evening, a morning full of packing and an afternoon of driving (Pismo is 3 hours drive north of us), I am bushed!
We’ll be enjoying hand made cinnamon rolls, strolls to the pier, clam chowder (Colleen, not me), Mo’s BBQ, campfires, a softball game or two (a niece is playing in neighboring Arroyo Grande this week), some reading, and a lot of nothing. With Colleen’s new job (which she LOVES), we don’t get these chances often.
We’ll head home Friday, since Colleen has to work on Saturday. For all you NewHeart folk, see you Sunday!!

Posted at 16:05h, 14 AprilHi Paul! I hope you guys have a relaxing and fun-filled week. I love it up there. We actually go camping in Oceano Dunes (on the beach), which is right next door to Pismo because we go ATC riding. It’s alot of fun! Anyways, I pray that the Lord refreshes you this week!

Jay and I love, love, love Pismo. We went there on our honeymoon and
love to go up there and hang out. Hoping you will have good weather.
