Today, Colleen & I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. Without a doubt, I married UP. This amazing woman took hold of my heart and has been partnering with Jesus to help bring me to places I would never have imagined.

We stayed at a bed & breakfast (those are our favorite) in Carpinteria. It was cozy and comfortable. Carpinteria is a great little town right on the beach. There is nothing in life like just vegging with my babe, and that’s what we did!

Our relationship is one filled with an authenticity, intimacy, and candor unlike many marriages I see. That is no testament to me, but to her. From the early days of our relationship, she would say, “Kuzma, I know the real, and I want the real!”

To this day, it’s what she demands, and what I always try to be … real. Not because she demands it, but because she deserves it. She never at any time deserves the fake me. And she never dresses me down when she sees the fake me. She just smiles and says, “I know the real, Kuzma. I want the real.”

I want this lady for the rest of my life. I really want to grow old, and we talk about how we both want to be pinching each other’s butt when we’re well into our 80’s and older!
